Austin's tonsillectomy!

Unfortunately this was Austin's 3rd time under anesthesia. The first was when he was 7 months old and had an adednoidectomy and tubes placed in his ears, the second when he had a sinus culture done and a cricoid biopsy, and the 3rd he had a tonsillectomy, tubes replaced in his ears, and also a sinus culture. Thankfully we didn't have to spend the night in the hospital, but once we got home and he threw up everywhere...I thought to myself...I would much rather be in the hospital right now...lol. Austin has been very fussy since his surgery, we are on day 9 and he is still whiney! He is still his normal happy self...with some fussiness added. We really have to push fluids, because he doesn't want much of anything. Austin was placed on Amoxicillin and then a few days later the ENT nurse called and stated that his sinus culture came back and he has 3 bacteria growing, which required him to be on a combo of 2 antibiotics...Rocephin and Suprax. Let me tell you, it isn't easy giving a toddler medication. I honestly don't know how much he gets because somehow he brings it back up and spits some out...I would try to hide it in his drink, but I don't know that he will drink it all because his throat hurts. I am just going to be optimistic and say he will recover nicely and have no residual bacteria in his sinuses. Lets pray that Austin is done having surgery!

Leslie modeling Maddie!

Leslie and Mike are going to have a little girl! This post is a little late, beccause Leslie is due any day now, but these photos are from a couple of months ago. I love these photos because my sister is so silly and she loves the camera. I hope you enjoy! I will definitely post some pictures of my new little niece when she is born, unfortunately I will not be able to be there for the birth, but I will definitely be going to visit a few weeks after she is born. I can't wait to meet my first and probably only niece. Lucky Maddie!

Beach time with the Haskin's Family!

Ryan's family goes to the beach every summer, and we have already gone a couple of times already. This summer Ryan's Aunt Susan came in from Colorado and they had a surprise 50th birthday party for her, which was a blast. Austin loves the sand, swimming, and taking naps on the beach. Here are some pictures that will attest to that! We will also being going to the beach in September with my family, which is where we will celebrate my mom and Austin's birthday.

Austin's trip to the zoo with Nana and Pooh

My work had a company picnic at Lowry Park Zoo, so we invited my parents to go. My mom and dad had a really great time with Austin. It was a scorching hot day, but we all survived. As soon as we got in the car afterwards, Austin was out like a light!

Little Picasso!

Austin decided he was going to paint some pictures for Mother's Day. Let me tell you, he was such a mess afterwards. Most importantly, people liked their paintings that little Picasso made.

Our romantic getaway to St. Augustine

Ryan and I decided spur of the moment that we needed to get away for the weekend, so we decided to go to St. Augustine. We had a really great time enjoying all of the historic sites, we even when on a ghost tour...that was my favorite part. We enjoyed some really great food; the best pizza is from Pizzalley's and we had an amazing dinner at the Columbia Restaraunt. It was really nice to have a weekend away with just the two of us while Austin was in good hands with his Nana. We will definitely go back again, but with Austin this time.

Austin's 1st Tattoos!

Our neighbors invited us to a school carnival, which was alot of fun. The kids went on the rides, won gold fish, and played games. Kayla, our neighbor's daughter won some temporary tattoos, so we decided to place it on the kids. Here are some pictures of Austin's lovely tattoos.

Easter 2008

Finally Austin is to the age where he wakes up and wonders, "Hmmm, why is there a trail of

eggs and how did this basket get here?" Austin enjoyed waking up in the morning following the trail of eggs that led him to his Easter basket. He had a really good time, especially with the Easter egg hunt. Next year he will be a little more self sufficient at finding the eggs on his own, but of course we are there to help.

A visit to Grandpa's grave...what a nice day it was!

My cousin Ryan, our son Austin, and I decided to pay a visit to Grandpa Sass' grave. We all miss him very much. I took this picture of Austin with the American flag and the wind was just blowing perfectly...almost like Grandpa was there with us. Little Austin never got to meet his great grandpa, but he would have loved him because he was like a big teddy bear. One day...we will all meet again!

Christmas 2007

We had all of our family over on Christmas Eve to hang out and see all of the lights in the neighborhood. Everyone brought some type of chili or soup...it was delicious! My parents, Leslie, Mike, and the kids stayed the night so we could see all the kids wake up Christmas morning. It was such a nice feeling to have my family at my house Christmas morning, except we were missing my brother David and my nephew Dale who are in SC. We are looking forward to another nice Christmas next year. This is a picture of the Austin that was on the Christmas card.

Our visit to South Carolina for Thanksgiving 2007.

So...we decided to take an 8 hour road trip to Sumter for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately Leslie, Mike, and the kids didn't go. We all had a wonderful time in SC. Austin was able to play with his cousin Dale and I was able to spend some nice quality time with my brother and my cousins.

Austin's 1st trip to Lowry Park Zoo

We decided to go to Lowry Park Zoo on $5 day with our friends Chris, Charlene, and their 2 kids Reece and Rhyan. Let's just say is was a zoo there! Everybody and their brothers and sisters wanted to go that day. The kids had a really good time checking out all of the animals.

Austin's 1st Birthday!

Finally...the day has come...our son has turned one! We had a huge birthday party for Austin and he had alot of fun playing with friends, opening gifts, and eating cake! Here are some pictures from his birthday party.

Austin's 1st year!

Let's just say it was a busy year with our little Austin. Once we put him in daycare at 3 months old...he was sick 24/7. I am sure putting him into daycare started it, but it has been a whirlwind. Austin has had constant colds, ear infections, wheezing, strep throat, etc. At 6 months old he had his 1st ER visit for wheezing which wasn't releived by his nebulizer treatment. We finally went to his allergist and the ENT which has given us alot of answers...so we hope. Austin has the typical allergies to Ragweed, American cockroaches, oak trees, and dogs. At 7 months old, Austin had his adenoids out and tubes placed in his ears. Austin was good for a while, but still getting sick all the time. Maybe it will take some time to grow out of...we will see. Here are some pictures of Austin the 1st year of his life.

Austin's getting ready to leave the hospital!

This was the best feeling when we were getting ready to leave the hospital with our little Austin. Thankfully there were not too many bad drivers on the road that day...it was a smooth ride home. Here are some of the pictures we took when he was getting ready to leave the hospital for the 1st time.

Our First Addition to Our Family

Well, of course some time has passed. We found out we were pregnant on January 13, 2006...it was Friday the 13th! It definitely wasn't bad news, but it was a pleasant surprise! I had a wonderful pregnancy...believe it or not, I never even threw up once. We found out we were having a boy and we decided to name him Austin Daniel. I went in for my OB appt the day before Austin was born and they did an ultrasound and saw that he was a very large baby and my chances of having a normal vaginal delivery were slim to none. I had a scheduled C-section the next and he was born at 1:33pm. Thank you to my sister's best friend Sandra who was my delivery room nurse...she is awesome! Austin was a chunky boy, he weighed 8 lbs, 12 oz and was 21 inches long. Lets just say I am glad I didn't have to push him through the canal. I had a wonderful recovery from my C-section...very little pain which nobody can believe! I bascially lived off of Motrin and a few Percocet here and there. Austin is our most precious gift ever...and one day we will have another addition to our family!
